Pre-Board Screening Officer

At Paladin Airport Security Services, we are committed to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the safety of passengers and crew. As a Pre-Board Screening Officer, you will play a critical role in upholding the highest standards of security and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints efficiently and effectively
  • Verify valid boarding passes and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Use X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other technology to scan and test baggage for prohibited items
  • Protect restricted areas and maintain a secure environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with passengers and colleagues
  • Uphold all regulations with vigilance and manage conflict situations professionally
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
  • Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
  • Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Candidates must be local to Castlegar, or the surrounding area
  • Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident

As a Pre-Board Screening Officer, you will receive paid training and comprehensive benefits. If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer.
