Grocery Department Manager

The Grocery Supervisor is a key member of the Calgary Co-op team, responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe and efficient grocery operation. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, with a focus on supervising and training staff to meet the highest standards of customer service and product presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and stocking of merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels and efficient stockroom operations.
- Merchandising: Plan and execute visual merchandising displays, ensuring a visually appealing and well-organized store environment.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the grocery department, including receiving, stocking, and facing merchandise, as well as maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to management to optimize store operations.
- Education: Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Six (6) months of grocery or equivalent retail experience, with strong product knowledge.
- Skills: Basic receiving, ordering, and merchandising skills, as well as basic Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Post-Secondary Education: Related post-secondary education.
- Leadership Experience: Experience in supervising others and planning and organizing events, projects, or programs.
- Technical Skills: Kronos knowledge.
- Education: Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Six (6) months of grocery or equivalent retail experience, with strong product knowledge.
- Skills: Basic receiving, ordering, and merchandising skills, as well as basic Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
