Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Physiotherapist Assistant to support our dedicated team in delivering exceptional care to residents in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervising physiotherapist in implementing treatment plans tailored for individuals in residential care.
- Administer prescribed treatments under the guidance of the supervising physiotherapist, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion activities, strengthening exercises, and the application of modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and TENS.
- Conduct engaging and safe exercise classes for groups of residents, ensuring therapeutic benefits.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for treatments, ensuring cleanliness and organization in treatment areas.
- Communicate regularly with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns related to residents' conditions or treatment plans.
- Document daily treatments using our proprietary web-based system.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology, or a related healthcare field.
- Experience in a long-term care setting is considered an asset.
- Certification in Standard First Aid & CPR.
The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
