POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Oversee the processing and validation of invoicing related to Long-Term Parts Agreements and other applicable third-party contracts.
  2. Ensure precise tracking of warranty claims for materials in accordance with contractual obligations.
  3. Supervise outsourced maintenance and repair activities for locomotives.
  4. Assist in negotiating contract modifications, ensuring effective controls for cross-billing related to locomotive agreements.
  5. Drive enhancements in operational efficiency through continuous improvement methodologies, standardization, performance metrics, and process management.
  6. Guarantee compliance of accounting and reporting processes with relevant internal control requirements.
  7. Identify and analyze opportunities for process improvements and implement chosen solutions.
  8. Lead the monthly financial outlook for locomotive maintenance materials and associated third-party expenditures.
  9. Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports and forecasts to senior leadership, providing actionable insights.
  10. Direct annual operational and capital expenditure budget planning for locomotive maintenance, servicing, infrastructure, and equipment upgrades.
  11. Facilitate communication between Mechanical, Finance, HR, and other departments as necessary.
  12. Manage the development and execution of multi-year capital and strategic maintenance initiatives aimed at enhancing cost-effective locomotive servicing and repairs.
  13. Support the rationale for equipment modifications and adjustments to maintenance practices.
  14. Engage in long-term planning teams for locomotive operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. Accounting designation is a plus.
  3. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budget oversight, financial forecasting, and operational management, preferably in the transportation or mechanical engineering industries.
  4. Demonstrated success in managing substantial operational and capital budgets.
  5. Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  6. Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  7. Advanced skills in BPC or other financial management software.
  8. Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex financial data and deliver strategic insights.
  9. Capability to distill extensive data into clear and understandable formats.
  10. Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities.
  11. Strong organizational, time management, and relationship management skills.
  12. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  13. Knowledge of the Railway or Heavy Equipment sectors is advantageous.
