Our specialized geomorphology team employs a science-driven, interdisciplinary methodology grounded in comprehensive knowledge of riverine and coastal geomorphology, sedimentology, hydraulics, and geomatics. Our tailored offerings encompass geomorphological assessments, creek and shoreline restoration, geomatics, fluvial and coastal hazard evaluations, and hydraulic and morphological modeling, aimed at protecting, maintaining, restoring, and enhancing fluvial and coastal ecosystems.

We are currently in search of a Junior Geomorphologist/Restoration Technician to become a part of this dedicated and expanding team. This role is ideal for a Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT). The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual with robust analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and present technical data and reports
  • Conduct corridor and crossing assessments to identify risks from natural hazards
  • Support stream restoration initiatives based on channel dynamics
  • Perform field data collection activities, as necessary, including data synthesis
  • Work with various forms of spatial data, including digital topographic information and aerial imagery
  • Assist in the execution of monitoring studies
  • Coordinate the implementation of channel restoration designs during construction
  • Travel as necessary for field programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Physical Geography, Geomorphology, River Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, or a related field
  • Ability to work towards obtaining Professional Geoscientist accreditation in Geomorphology or Professional Engineering licensure in Ontario
  • Demonstrated scientific expertise in areas such as field data collection, river mechanics, sediment transport, geomorphic processes, and hydraulics
  • Experience in water resource management, including environmental geoscience, biogeography, and aquatic sciences is advantageous
  • Familiarity with digital cartography (GIS), aerial photo interpretation, and field surveying techniques (total station, RTK) is a plus
  • Strong communication abilities with a proven record of clear presentation and effective verbal, written, and listening skills
  • Proficient in digital tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with AutoCAD or hydraulic modeling software is beneficial
  • Valid G driver's license is required
