Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a Cook - Part Time/Casual, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and implement menus, preparing food according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Assist the Food Services Manager as needed, taking on additional responsibilities in their absence.
  • Monitor food supplies and recommend corrective action to ensure quality and quantity meet our standards.
  • Coach Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities, assuming responsibility for routine departmental operations in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must meet one of the following qualification scenarios:

  • Hold a Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a program that meets the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
  • Hold a Certificate of qualification as a Cook issued by an authority meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
  • Hold a Post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
