Job Summary

AK Transit is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and ensuring the timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a Tractor-Trailer: Safely drive a tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials.
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Logistics and Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with central dispatch and other stakeholders.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle and perform routine maintenance tasks, such as brake adjustments.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Language: English is the primary language used in this role.
  • Work Hours: 35-45 hours per week.
Work Environment

As a Truck Driver with AK Transit, you will be working in a fast-paced transportation environment. You will be required to work overtime and perform repetitive tasks.
