Job Title: Elementary Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our team at T'lisalagi'lakw School. As a First Nations operated Group Two Independent school, we offer a unique opportunity to work in an idyllic setting with a relatively low teacher to student ratio.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement inquiry-based, problem-solving, and project-based learning opportunities
  • Utilize academic programs including Reading Mastery, ReadWell, Corrective Reading, Nelson Literacy, and Saxon Math
  • Develop and deliver long-term, monthly, and daily lesson plan activities
  • Collaborate with Education Assistants and Cultural Workers to ensure student success
  • Enforce the school discipline policy and participate in supervisory and extra-curricular teams
  • Provide written student evaluation reports and attend parent-teacher conferences
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education
  • Member in good standing with the BC College of Teachers
  • 2 years' teaching experience in a First Nations environment preferred
  • Satisfactory criminal records and vulnerable sector search
