Job Overview
The Corporate Risk Manager reports to the Sr. Director, Treasury and has responsibility over the reporting and management of our corporate insurance program, along with reporting on our interest rate and foreign exchange hedging programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Third Party Administrators, senior legal counsel, and insurance brokers in the claims reporting and management process.
- Manage internal and external reporting process, working with a third party actuary, for the company's insurance casualty reserve.
- Analyze claims data and actuary reserve to identify trends and propose improvements to internal business teams that can minimize claims costs.
- Collect underwriting data from various internal partners for policy renewals on 10+ different lines of insurance coverage.
- Manage the insurance program renewal process by negotiating with third party insurance brokers and underwriters.
- Analyze whether our risk retention strategy is appropriate by evaluating premium costs, historical claims data and actuarial models and recommend structure and coverage changes, where appropriate.
- Assist in the evaluation of interest rate / foreign exchange hedging activity.
- Work with Accounting to review hedging activity and ensure all hedging activity is adequately documented / implemented.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics, or CFA preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
- Must be flexible, organized and customer-focused to foster strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Experience in an insurance related position is preferred (US & Canadian experience a plus).
- Familiarity with auto coverage, property, general liability, workers compensation coverage is preferred.
