Physical Performance Consultant, Raptors 905

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the execution and management of athlete performance and wellness initiatives. This position involves overseeing and executing performance enhancement programs, evaluations, monitoring, and physical growth strategies tailored for Raptors 905 athletes. The successful individual will work closely with the Head Athletic Therapist and the Assistant Athletic Therapist, while reporting to the Vice President of Franchise Operations for Raptors 905, the Vice President of Player Health & Performance for the Toronto Raptors, and the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Toronto Raptors.
Role Responsibilities- Oversee the off-court performance requirements of Raptors 905 athletes. Design and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs alongside personalized performance-health plans.
- Establish performance assessment methodologies and athlete monitoring systems.
- Guide athletes through warm-up, cool-down, and activation routines. Support recovery initiatives and strategies.
- Manage nutritional guidance and meal planning within the team environment.
- Share performance insights with the Head Coach and General Manager of Raptors 905.
- Collaborate with the Head Athletic Therapist and Assistant Athletic Therapist to facilitate player health operations. Aid in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols. Provide first aid support during medical emergencies.
- Work in conjunction with the Toronto Raptors Performance Staff to implement strength & conditioning initiatives for development athletes.
- Engage with coaches, front office personnel, and team operations staff to foster optimal team performance and athlete success.
- Assist with various basketball operations tasks as required.
We recognize that candidates may not meet every qualification listed below and encourage you to share relevant experience in your application.
- A completed university degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Human Kinetics, or a related discipline.
- Current CSCS certification in good standing (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist).
- A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience working with athletes in a performance-oriented role, with direct involvement in developing strength & conditioning programs.
- Valid CPR/BLS first responder certification and basic first aid knowledge.
- Possess a valid passport and be prepared for frequent cross-border travel.
