About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team at Roberta Place Retirement. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary operations and ensuring that our residents receive exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation: Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse tastes and dietary needs of our residents.
  • Culinary Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and other support personnel.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food safety and quality control, ensuring that all food is prepared and served in a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including cleaning equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Certifications: Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and work under pressure.
