Job Summary:
Vshighways is seeking a skilled Highway Maintenance Worker/Operator to join our team. As a Highway Maintenance Worker/Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of highways and roads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment used in highway maintenance work, including snow and ice control, roadside maintenance, road surface maintenance, traffic control maintenance, bridge maintenance, and highway maintenance.
- Ensure that all operations are conducted in an environmentally compliant manner, adhering to company environmental and safety policies as well as OH&S regulations.
- Complete all required documentation, including fuel logs, schedule forms, road reports, highway maintenance records, equipment repair requests, safety and environmental documentation.
- Plan and schedule working shifts and call-ins, including significant shift work, on-call, and night shift work.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including long hours working on highways.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 (preferred) or Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement.
- Experience and aptitude for operation and minor maintenance of light, medium, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
