About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team at Garden View Village in Kimberley, BC. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including vegetables, meats, sauces, and salads.
  • Ensure the kitchen is operated in a clean, safe, and efficient manner, adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Manage inventory, including dating and containing food, and coordinating with colleagues to maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Portion and serve food and beverages in the dining room, and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Load hot wagons and deliver food to resident neighborhoods, and stock resident kitchens with essentials.
  • Prepare tables for mealtimes, including setting up utensils, condiments, and beverages.
  • Assist with special events, including portioning and serving meals.
  • Operate dishwashing machines, stack clean dishes, and perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Replenish beverage containers, tidy the kitchenette, and restock supplies.
  • Perform related clerical duties, including answering the phone and documenting information.
Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school.
  • Completion of a college program in cooking, or several years of related experience.
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • Possession of a Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Able to provide a negative TB screening test.
  • Can provide full immunization records.
