Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - New Model Development

Plasman is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Windsor, ON, Canada. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new assembly strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, engineering, and purchasing teams to design and implement new assembly strategies
  • Lead the process of assembly strategy development through machine design and build
  • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Prepare and review RFQs for outsourcing equipment and manage the budget for purchased equipment
  • Participate in commissioning, sign-off, and implementation of equipment for secondary operations
  • Support AMEs in assembly ECN reviews and guidance to SOP as required by plant
  • Develop and evaluate local automation supply base to drive competitive equipment pricing
Requirements:
  • Recognized Engineering Technical diploma in a related area, preferably with a university degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in the automotive engineering field, with knowledge of integrated manufacturing and design
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of plastics joining methods, automotive exterior plastics, and integrated manufacturing technology
