Senior Network Engineer Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team and contribute to a significant multi-year Defense program. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth network requirements analysis and define comprehensive specifications.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and technical staff to refine network architectures and address any adjustments required.
- Propose and evaluate potential network engineering changes, performing thorough system impact analyses.
- Analyze and implement Change Requests related to the network infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve identified network-related System Problem Reports.
- Design, develop, and integrate modifications at the network level.
- Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations to assess new technologies and solutions.
- Perform system prototyping, modeling, and simulation to optimize network performance.
- Provide valuable support to the development of network architecture designs.
- Contribute to network testing efforts to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedure documentation for network operations.
- Provide comprehensive system acceptance support throughout the implementation process.
- Offer Verification & Validation (V&V) support on network configuration items.
- Prepare detailed network topology, engineering, and design diagrams, along with accreditation documentation.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer within the realm of Military Command and Control Software systems (flexibility may be considered for this requirement).
- Possession of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) Bachelor's Degree in network engineering, software development, computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field. This qualification is essential to support Land C4ISR initiatives.
- At least 6 years of experience within the last 10 years, with a minimum of 4 years demonstrating expertise in at least four of the following areas:
- Analyzing, designing, and implementing network system architectures.
- Network engineering and network systems security (hardware, software, and network), including cryptographic key management, devices, hardware, firmware, or software that incorporates or defines cryptographic logic.
- Network engineering for Real-time systems, Distributed Systems, embedded systems, or mission-critical system environments.
- Network architecture directly related to implementation practices such as Layer 2 nomenclature, routing protocol selection, security protocols, and deployment models within a high-security environment.
- Analyzing, designing, integrating, testing, and implementing communications management of network systems.
- Employing computer modeling and simulation tools to conduct network and/or wireless communications performance studies or protocol development.
