About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair building equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, and reporting any issues to the facilities manager.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or safety hazards, and take corrective action to resolve the issue.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of pool equipment, including filtration systems and water chemistry.
  • Perform light-duty cleaning and project cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve our facilities management goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in skilled trades and/or building maintenance.
  • Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR level C an asset.
  • Experience with pool operation and maintenance an asset.
  • WHMIS and related health and safety training an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
