Instructor, Carpenter
Position Code: NLC-2134
Compensation: $31.87 to $48.95 per hour
Location: High Level
Qualifications Required:
- Must possess an Alberta or Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring within an educational or trades environment is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Criminal Record check is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the trades or industry sector.
- Background in teaching adult learners.
- Experience working with indigenous or remote communities.
The successful candidate will be required to submit academic transcripts, proof of a valid driver's license, and a criminal record check to Human Resources prior to starting the position.
Position Responsibilities:
This role involves the planning, preparation, and delivery of instructional content as well as the assessment of learners in the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Carpenter Apprenticeship Program. Instruction will encompass both theoretical and practical components aimed at equipping students for the Alberta Apprenticeship examination.
Key Duties:
- Design and prepare instructional materials.
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to diverse learning styles.
- Assess and report on student performance.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and community stakeholders as necessary.
- Coordinate with other College departments to support student success.
- Handle administrative responsibilities.
- Assist in student recruitment and enrollment processes.
- Monitor student attendance and interventions.
- Complete required reports and documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of student information.
