Job Summary:
This is a Casual opportunity with Interior Health Authority. As a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse, you will provide nursing care to Long-term Care patients, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will enhance the quality of life for patients and their families, consult with other healthcare providers, and participate in continuous improvement and evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients, including assessing, planning, and implementing care plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Enhance patient quality of life through education, support, and advocacy
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered care
About this Location/Unit:
The Slocan Community Health Centre is a residential facility attached to the 24/7 Emergency Unit and physicians' offices. Our resident-centred philosophy supports residents' choices, helps people function at their highest level, and provides the best quality of life possible. The facility has six private rooms and 10 semi-private rooms with stunning views of the mountains and lake. We have a Recreational Program Coordinator and a Rehabilitation Assistant on site, as well as regular visits from physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Our van is available for outings with residents.
