Job Summary
The Finance Department at Douglas College is seeking a contract instructor to teach finance courses starting in the Fall 2024 term.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in finance courses, including Personal Finance I, Personal Finance II, CFP Capstone Course, and other assigned finance courses.
- Facilitate learning and evaluate student progress.
- Plan, organize, and teach learning activities to ensure students receive the knowledge, information, and resources to succeed.
- Maintain a quality, learner-centered approach to post-secondary education.
Requirements
- PhD, MBA, ABD status, or relevant Master's degree from a recognized institution.
- Three years of work and teaching experience in an area directly related to the assigned teaching responsibility, particularly work experience in the practice of financial planning.
- Relevant industry designation: Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Excellent ability to teach upper-level courses at the post-secondary level.
- Previous successful teaching experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of computer applications and educational technologies.
