About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test II to join our UI Platform team at Mimecast. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting engineers in the development of our products and increasing testing and automation for multiple aspects of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in backlog grooming, planning, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure high-quality software development.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and provide suggestions for resolution.
- Extend the functionality of test frameworks to create new patterns of testing within existing frameworks.
- Collaborate with the team through active listening, problem-solving, support, sharing, and helping team members improve their skills.
- Continuously improve team efficiency, personal skills, and team skills.
- Apply technology trends and industry innovations to our products.
- Take initiatives and be resourceful in driving project success.
- Take ownership and create accountability within the team.
- Engage in open and respectful debate, and rally behind team decisions.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- 4+ years of experience as a SDET working across the full tech stack.
- Experience with popular UI Test frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with public-facing and internal APIs using REST and software developed within a Micro-Service architecture.
- Experience using TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Experience in Java and Junit 4-5 or related languages.
- Proficient with Cypress or knowledge of Protractor/Selenium.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
- Experience using and setting up CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building and maintaining test frameworks.
- Experience working in an Agile development, test, and deploy environment.
- Experience in deep diving into logs, code, and other elements to understand and solve problems.
- Excitement about new technologies and a willingness to mentor and share knowledge with other engineers.
