As a Health Care Aide, your responsibilities will include:

I. Resident Care
  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
  • Providing personal care, including applying lotions, assisting with oral hygiene, and changing incontinence products.
  • Monitoring residents' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nurse.
  • Assisting residents with mobility, using assistive devices as needed.
  • Accompanying residents to appointments or activities outside the facility.
  • Providing companionship and engaging in social interaction with residents.
II. Infection Control & Maintenance
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment, wheelchairs, commodes, bedpans, urinals, and mechanical lifts.
  • Laundering slings as required and ensuring residents' personal clothing is sent to the laundry appropriately.
III. Administrative & Communication
  • Transporting residents to meals, recreation activities, or other appointments as needed.
  • Participating in the education of students, new staff, or agency personnel as requested.
  • Documenting care delivery on appropriate records as directed by the nurse.
  • Communicating effectively with residents, families, and other staff members.
