Job Summary

HITACHI ENERGY CANADA INC. is seeking a highly skilled Marketing Engineer to support our North American Sales and Tendering team in articulating the technical value and product offerings of our transformers to customers and prospects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Tendering activities and assist the Sales team with presales support to related product applications and solutions.
  • Participate in sales campaigns and technical forums, actively promoting and differentiating our offering against competition.
  • Perform analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the most suitable product offering to meet customer needs.
  • Identify risks in contracts at the tendering stage and perform risk reviews with respective teams to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Front End Sales, Account Management, Engineering, Procurement, Execution, Production, and Product Marketing teams.
  • Support technical identification and qualification of new opportunities related to distribution transformers.
  • Provide technical insights about applications to customers and partners, leveraging HITACHI ENERGY technologies.
  • Ensure the right understanding of technical advantages and values during early stages of opportunities.
  • Assist in preparation of tender responses and propose technical solutions for complex enquiries.
  • Provide technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations.
  • Provide necessary details to Execution teams to avoid inefficiency.
  • Collaborate in standardization of relevant execution processes and technical details.
  • Participate in individual and team presentations and demonstrations.
  • Represent HITACHI ENERGY at nominated industry and marketing events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Production Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience desired.
  • Understanding of Salesforce.com, an asset.
  • Good knowledge in electrical products, low voltage, and medium voltage distribution, mainly transformers, an asset.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and global team environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Bilingual and fluent in French and English.
