Job Summary
The Senior Accounting Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our monthly accounting close process. This includes analyzing data sources, preparing journal entries, and reconciling financial statements. The successful candidate will also provide accounting support to our shared services team and partner with business stakeholders to drive financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and reconcile monthly sales and COGS for assigned business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing variance analysis for management review.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy, reviewing general ledger transactions for OPEX and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare monthly recurring journal entries, including allocations, prepaids, consumables, and rebates.
- Review inventory transactions, analyze and reconcile SAP data with inventory subledger in Kroll, and escalate variances for resolution.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, providing support and review for shared services.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions, working with other McKesson BUs to resolve outstanding intercompany balances monthly.
- Liaise with head office to ensure accurate transaction capture in our SAP system.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and accounting policies (SOX).
- Participate in the preparation of ad-hoc financial reports and complete other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting, and a CPA designation.
- Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on month-end close accounting experience.
- Intermediate-to-Expert level Excel experience, strong knowledge of MS Office suite, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SAP or other major ERP systems is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to perform other tasks as required by organizational demands.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be determined and flexible with a positive outlook.
- Demonstrates ownership of assigned responsibilities with a confident, independent, and determined attitude.
- Strict, disciplined approach to work, with outstanding process awareness and respect for procedures at all times.

Our Compensation Package
