Role Overview:
The Retail Advice and Solutions division at Sun Life Financial is a leading provider of life, health, and wealth products in Canada. This position is pivotal in addressing complex insurance and wealth scenarios, collaborating with team members, Advisors, and Clients. You will tackle tax and legal planning challenges, providing Clients with potential solutions to enhance their financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver advanced tax, legal, estate, and financial planning expertise to sales and advisory teams.
- Engage in collaborative fieldwork with Advisors and their professional networks to uncover tax planning opportunities related to estate and wealth management.
- Resolve complex cases presented by Advisors, utilizing your expertise to develop effective client solutions, including direct interaction with Clients as necessary.
- Enhance Advisor capabilities through workshops and seminars on advanced financial planning topics.
- Promote sales tools that align with Sun Life Financial's offerings and address legal and compliance considerations.
- Conduct client seminars and prepare related materials.
- Stay informed through research and participation in industry activities.
- Contribute to the Financial Planning Centre of Expertise by sharing insights and developing effective processes and tools.
- Manage large and complex insurance cases in collaboration with Insurance Sales Directors and Business Growth teams.
- Provide technical education and content to support various departments within Sun Life.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of personal and corporate financial planning, including taxation and business succession.
- Strong understanding of industry trends and their impact on business objectives.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
- Professional designations such as CPA, LL.B, M. Tax, or FCIA are required; CFP, CLU, FEA, or TEP designations are advantageous.
- A university degree or equivalent business experience is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years in the financial services sector is required.
