Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Network and Systems Analyst to join our team at the Delta Police Department. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for assessing, supporting, and improving our existing network and systems infrastructure, as well as leading the planning and deployment of new network technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network and Systems Infrastructure Management
    • Configure and maintain communications networks, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
    • Implement system and network monitoring and analysis tools to evaluate and improve network performance.
    • Design changes to network, storage, and communications systems in response to changing requirements and the availability of new technologies.
  • Technical Project Leadership
    • Lead technical projects from requirements gathering through to deployment and end-user support.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Network and Data Security
    • Assist in maintaining network and data security, including firewall configuration and maintenance.
    • Implement network security practices and techniques, including network access control and quality of service evaluation.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior team members and co-op students.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support team knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
    • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent understanding of communications protocols, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, BGP, and OSPF routing.
    • Excellent understanding of network firewalls, routers, and switches.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of staff and external contacts.
    • Ability to investigate and resolve network hardware and related component problems.
  • Desirable Qualifications
    • CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification.
    • CISSP, CISM, and familiarity with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework.
    • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures.
