Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Payments Canada. As a key member of our Application Development and Cloud Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to support internal service delivery and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure cloud solutions using infrastructure-as-code and robust disaster recovery practices.
  • Champion automation by streamlining infrastructure tasks using programming languages, IaC tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Drive operational excellence by enhancing monitoring, optimizing performance, implementing logging/alerting, and leading cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with organizational goals.
  • Provide infrastructure-related support to stakeholders and contribute to documentation.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure services, software development, or a related field.
  • Experience in producing concise and detailed technical documentation.
  • Experience in technical activities related to infrastructure design and operations, preferably in a cloud-centric environment.
  • Knowledge and production experience in designing, deploying, and administering GCP cloud applications.
  • Knowledge of software version control, automated deployment, orchestration, and CI/CD principles.
  • Experience designing and enforcing disaster recovery plans and business continuity contingencies.
  • Experience working with configuration management tools and Kubernetes.
  • Government of Canada Level II Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
