Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Designer to become a vital part of our Subject Matter Expert team within the Security and Healthcare Technology division. This role is based in a dynamic environment. Here’s how your expertise will enhance our capabilities.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in Security and Healthcare Technologies, especially those who have experience with large-scale design projects. However, we are open to considering applicants with diverse experiences and skill sets, which may influence the offered salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote and on-site work for the design, installation, assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of various electronic systems, including but not limited to: Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, Telecommunication, and Video Surveillance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for project managers and mentor junior team members, assisting with technical challenges.
- Evaluate potential project sites and provide precise estimates for required equipment and time.
- Ensure accurate documentation and completion of as-built records for all projects.
- Provide training to end users on the operation of the systems delivered.
- Develop and implement solutions to address interfacing or communication issues between different systems.
- Commission and configure hardware and software for installation and deployment.
- Create and deliver internal technical training resources and sessions for team members.
Qualifications and Skills
- Formal training in multiple relevant security and healthcare systems and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
- Familiarity with various platforms such as Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong technical knowledge in related systems. An electronics background is also advantageous.
- Experience with large design and build projects, particularly in healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of integration and middleware engines within the security and healthcare product landscape.
- Understanding of SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform-agnostic messaging protocols.
- Proficiency in various programming and computer languages, including C#, Python, and T-SQL is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with web-based technologies, protocols, and languages such as API, REST, SOAP, HTTP/HTTPS, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML, and SQL is a significant asset.
- Ability to work within various government institutions and willingness to travel for short-term assignments.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,000 per year, complemented by a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall alignment with the position.
