About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to support the City's climate mitigation and greenhouse gas reduction goals through the implementation of programs, strategies, and policies to support electric mobility in Calgary. As the Corporate Environmental Specialist, Electric Mobility, you will lead the development and implementation of the City's public-facing electric mobility programs, including a multi-unit residential building electric vehicle charging pilot.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of the multi-unit residential electric vehicle charging pilot.
- Lead the electric mobility portfolio, including the design, implementation, capital procurement, evaluation, and reporting of Calgary's public-facing electric mobility programs.
- Provide subject matter expertise on electric mobility to internal and external partners.
- Collaborate with other Community Energy team members to develop programs and other supports to enable GHG reductions in Calgary.
- Identify and analyze data to establish program benchmarks, key performance indicators, and other climate-related metrics, and support annual accountability reporting.
- Lead research, analysis, engagement, and facilitation and oversee consultants.
- Communicate information to a variety of audiences, including speaking and briefing notes, technical reports, outreach, education, and communications.
- Build cross-corporate and external relationships to ensure collaboration.
- A degree in Environment, Planning, Engineering, Public Policy, or Sustainability, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental program design and delivery or other relevant experience.
- Experience in municipal climate program design and delivery, GHG quantification and analysis, and/or electric mobility are considered assets.
- Critical thinking, strategic planning, collaboration, and effective communication skills are essential.
