Midway Nissan, a respected member of the Drive Autogroup, is currently in search of an Automotive Technician to enhance our dynamic workforce. The successful candidate will possess a robust mechanical understanding and the capability to handle multiple tasks in a high-energy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Automotive Technician will conduct inspections and repairs on vehicles while updating Service Advisors on progress.
- Execute tasks outlined in the repair order efficiently and in line with dealership standards.
- Perform test drives and assess components and systems utilizing diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and prepare various automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Engage directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional services required and provide estimates for costs and time for further repairs.
- Ensure shop equipment is functioning by adhering to operating instructions, troubleshooting issues, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and alerting Service Management of equipment status.
- Stay informed on all automotive product knowledge, manufacturer updates, bulletins, recalls, and technical advancements.
- Carry out repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Licensed Technician.
- Must possess 310S certification and Class A Automotive Mechanic's license.
- Other certifications or licenses required by provincial regulations.
- OSSD or equivalent preferred.
- Strong background in automotive mechanics.
- A valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Physical capability to lift 50lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching.
- Proficient in the use of power tools, machinery, and hand tools.
- Ability to communicate automotive issues effectively.
- Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
