Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Associate to engage in our distribution center operations and activities. The Logistics Associate is responsible for preparing and fulfilling orders for delivery or collection. This role assists the Warehouse Coordinator in managing donations, guiding volunteer groups, organizing inventory, and other assigned tasks. The primary focus will be on supporting the Warehouse Coordinator in directing volunteers to sort items for distribution.

Your Responsibilities:

The Logistics Associate at Archway Community Services contributes by:

Supporting all internal programs that require food, including but not limited to satellite initiatives, Starfish, and seasonal campaigns.Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the distribution center.Receiving shipments and constructing pallets for various programs.Assisting in organizing pallets for preparation and distribution.Participating in large-scale food drives.

This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented and capable of building relationships with community partners, recipients, and volunteers.

What We Offer

Compensation: $20.00 per hourA permanent, casual/on-call position, with availability required Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.Benefits include: Comprehensive in-house training opportunities. Qualifications for Consideration:

Experience in customer service.Preferred experience in distribution center operations.Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.A Forklift Operating Certificate is advantageous; willingness to undergo training is essential.A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License is beneficial.

Essential Requirements:

Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.Well-developed relationship-building abilities.Familiarity with warehousing practices and Occupational Health & Safety standards.Physical capability to walk and lift/carry items up to 50lbs/22 kgs; this role involves periods of continuous movement.Ability to engage with others; this position entails a high level of social interaction.Personal CSA approved safety boots.Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.Capability to work in a distribution center environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and areas that are unheated or lack air conditioning.A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
