Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Professor to teach Electrical Circuits in our Department of Electrical Engineering. As a Part-Time Professor, you will be responsible for delivering lectures, leading discussions, and assessing student performance in our Electrical Circuits course.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and lead discussions on network theorems, forced and transient response to deterministic inputs, sinusoidal steady-state response of circuits, magnetic theory and circuits, transformers, and electromechanical energy conversion.
  • Teach students about three-phase power, DC machines, AC machines, torque-speed curves, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement laboratory experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Provide feedback to students on their progress and understanding of the course material.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of electrical circuits and related topics, demonstrated by teaching experience or relevant work experience.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer.
  • Doctorate in a field related to electrical engineering, or relevant work experience in a field related to electrical engineering.

Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, with a teaching load of 52 hours per semester. The teaching method will be delivered in person. The contract will include a payment for 52 hours, with the possibility of additional hours for tutorial attendance.
