We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Team Lead to join our team at Global Relay. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of our pioneering products, which are used by tens of thousands of users globally to solve real-world business communication and messaging problems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of developers in an Agile environment, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members, providing continuous feedback and recognizing individual strengths and contributions.
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes, ensuring the delivery of scalable, highly-available, and world-class products to our customers.
- Work with product managers to ensure accurate product builds and collaborate with project managers to meet development schedules and controls.
- Own your team's deliverables and product quality, ensuring timely resolution of production issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Develop relationships across functions with QA, Operations, Support, and other teams to drive Global Relay's success.
- Be a hands-on development team manager, spending up to 50% of your time in design reviews, sprint planning, and other Agile artifacts, with some active coding required.
- An M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 8 years of software development experience, shipping enterprise-grade software using multiple languages and frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience as a hands-on development team manager, with a demonstrated track record of leading geographically dispersed teams.
- Demonstrated track record of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than you found it.
- Strong communication and consensus-building skills, with experience in full-stack SaaS development, advanced web applications, API development, and large complex databases.
- Language: Java, Python, Spring Boot Framework.
- Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, Skaffold, OpenShift.
- Databases: PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Cassandra.
- Other: ZooKeeper, Kafka, Ansible, Hardware Security Modules.
