Job Summary

Veren is seeking a highly experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to lead our asset optimization efforts. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing technical support to our operations and maintenance groups, optimizing existing facilities, and overseeing capital projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and interns, ensuring the successful execution of management of change initiatives.
  • Project Management: Participate in and oversee budgeting, project identification, development, and prioritization, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Facilities Optimization: Direct and oversee facilities optimization activities, including debottlenecking, modifications, rationalizing consolidations, and scoping projects to reduce operating costs.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain relationships with Calgary-based facilities engineers and field-based development teams to ensure seamless project scoping, design, and project management.
  • Strategic Planning: Strategically plan and evaluate facility/pipeline requirements for current and future capital development, utilizing process/pipeline simulation software where applicable.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure and oversee the implementation of best engineering practices and safe work practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to the regulatory group, ensuring that facilities and infrastructure are compliant and offering executive-level recommendations on non-compliant facilities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Experience: Advanced experience in both oil and gas field operations and maintenance is essential, with proven expertise in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Proven leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to foster teamwork, motivate colleagues, and develop junior staff.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of all regulatory requirements in the jurisdiction.
  • Analytical and Decision-Making Skills: Highly analytical with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level, with strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
