We are seeking a Finance Team Leader to oversee the financial operations of our organization. This role is pivotal in managing financial activities across various departments, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and providing insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior management. The Finance Team Leader will play a key role in the preparation of financial statements, operational reports, and budgets for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards while implementing and maintaining effective internal controls.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, financial statements, and analyses for all projects on a scheduled basis.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives, along with ad-hoc reporting or analysis.
  • Lead and manage the Finance and Administration team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting within a corporate or business environment, with a preference for experience in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven capacity to take initiative and tackle challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing competing demands and meeting deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business management, finance, or accounting.
  • Possession of or progress towards a CPA designation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other financial software.
  • Experience with various organizational-specific database systems.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related purposes.
  • Proof of insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability coverage.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons Check.

Compensation and Benefits: The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. This is a full-time salaried position (40 hours per week), with a Monday to Friday schedule and occasional evenings or weekends as needed. The successful candidate will be eligible for the organization's Paid Personal Time, Group Health Benefits Program, and Group Retirement Savings Plan, as applicable.
