Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health, working in the Mission Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect specialized occupational therapy services to clients, utilizing recognized occupational therapy tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct client assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group interventions to support occupational performance and functional responsibilities.
- Collaborate with inter-professional team members to determine recovery priorities and goals, and provide education and support to clients and their families.
- Develop and coordinate rehabilitation programs, including peer support, therapeutic volunteer, and rehabilitation fund programs, to support client recovery and well-being.
- Represent the program on Fraser Health and local committees, providing input on rehabilitation policy, program planning, and standards.
- Supervise occupational therapy students as required and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
- Two (2) years' recent related experience working in a community mental health and/or substance use setting.
- Valid B.C. Class V Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Working knowledge of current psychiatric rehabilitation, psychosocial approaches, and recovery practices.
- Demonstrated ability to use activity analysis to assess occupational performance and modify the activity, environment, or supports to enable occupation.
