About the Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to join our executive team as the Vice President of Information Services and Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS). As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's technology strategy and ensuring the effective delivery of IT services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic, results-driven oversight, guidance, and support to all technology initiatives and operations within APS.
  • Technology Strategy: Develop and execute the IT and enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with APS's business objectives and goals.
  • IT Operations: Oversee IT infrastructure, corporate IT program portfolio, and information security program, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and exceeding operational and service level standards.
  • Financial Management: Provide effective oversight of financial and performance data, ensuring prudent oversight to minimize technology costs.
  • Team Leadership: Act as the chief steward and innovation channel for team operations, cultivating a high-performance, collaborative environment where contributions are recognized.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree with at least 5-10 years of directly related IT experience, or Bachelor's Degree with at least 10-15 years of directly related IT experience.
  • Skills: Proven senior leadership experience, vision-oriented mindset, strong organizational skills, strategic leadership, planning, execution, and risk management, excellent interpersonal skills, and financial acumen.
  • Competencies: Visionary and organizational awareness, problem-solving, and managing change.
