Position Overview

As a Network Systems Specialist at Orbit Home Automation Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our computer networks. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college or CEGEP program, or equivalent non-university diploma lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in network support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the access and utilization of computer networks.
  • Install and configure software applications.
  • Set up and maintain web server hardware and software.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), mainframe networks, and related computer workstations and peripherals.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of computer systems and networks.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and upgrade web server hardware and software.
  • Evaluate and implement computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Provide support and problem-solving assistance to network users.
  • Implement security protocols for data, software, and hardware.
  • Conduct routine network startups and shutdowns while maintaining control records.
  • Perform data backups and manage disaster recovery operations.
  • Establish local area networks and ensure Internet connectivity.
  • Modify web pages, applets, and scripts as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries for assistance and information from website visitors and designers.
  • Manage web server backup and recovery processes.
