Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing the daily operations related to receiving, shipping, and inventory management within the pharmacy, which includes:
  • Receiving: Confirming all incoming shipments for accuracy and assessing for any shipping damages; executing the pharmacy's established receiving procedures, ensuring that the quantities invoiced match what was received, and entering product details into the pharmacy's software system. All receiving documents must be verified for correctness to prevent pricing discrepancies.
  • Product Quarantine: Managing the quarantine process for all incoming products and returns as per pharmacy standard operating procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring the movement of inventory follows FIFO (first-in-first-out) or FEFO (first-expiry-first-out) protocols.
  • Product Storage: Ensuring proper storage practices for all incoming products.
  • Product Packing: Verifying all products received against accompanying documentation to ensure accuracy in product type, quantity, shipping location, and packaging. All pharmacy orders must be packaged according to temperature requirements and standard operating procedures, taking into account shipping destinations and weather conditions.
  • Documentation: Accurately completing all necessary documentation, including shipping paperwork such as waybills and packing slips.
  • Production Assembly: Assisting in the assembly of cold chain and ambient boxes, as well as preparing necessary materials for pack outs.
  • Supply Management: Monitoring and replenishing shipping materials as required.
  • Administrative Support: Providing assistance with administrative tasks such as filing.
  • Product Handling: Ensuring that all sensitive products are managed and labeled according to pharmacy protocols.
  • Software Proficiency: Being trained and knowledgeable in the pharmacy software system as it pertains to receiving operations.
  • Final Verification: Acting as the final check to ensure that the correct prescription is delivered to the appropriate destination.
  • Carrier Software Utilization: Utilizing various carrier software systems for shipping purposes.
  • On-Call Requirements: Being available for standby/on-call duties as necessary.


Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in the English language (reading, writing, speaking, and mathematics).
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks involving reaching, bending, and lifting.
  • Able to work in a cold environment on a daily basis.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in time-sensitive situations.
  • Flexibility to adjust priorities quickly to meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Independent worker with minimal supervision required.
  • Bilingualism (French-English) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as reach trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts as necessary.
