Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team at InSync Systems Inc. as an LMS Data Management Advisor.

About the Role

The LMS Data Management Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of data within our client's Learning Management System (LMS). This position requires a high level of technical knowledge, customer service, and partnerships both within the business and HR.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Standardize Data Formats: Standardize data formats for learning content, reports, and other information contained in the LMS.
  2. Data Duplication Removal: Identify and remove duplication across courses and learning records.
  3. Data Validation: Validate the data against reliable sources, and correct inaccuracies or add missing information.
  4. Data Purge: Purge or remove irrelevant or obsolete data in the LMS.
  5. Data Integrity Checks: Perform data integrity checks to identify any inconsistencies or errors in the LMS data.
  6. External Data Validation: Validate the LMS data against external sources, such as HR records or certification databases, to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
  7. System Reconciliation: Reconcile the LMS data with other systems or reports to identify any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  8. Team Collaboration: Participate in creating a cohesive team atmosphere as well as providing support to other team members.

Requirements

  1. Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field of study.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data management or data science.
  3. Technical Skills: Proven experience in data management, preferably in the context of Learning Management Systems. Experience with Workday Learning considered an asset. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Communication Skills: Communication skills to be able to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
