Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with meal selection, service, and retrieval, taking into account their dietary needs and restrictions.
  • Prepare and deliver patient meal trays and snacks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate modified diets, fluid restrictions, and calorie counts, as required.
  • Perform various kitchen duties, including sanitation, setup, and temperature logging.
  • Utilize an automated tablet to record and transfer meal selections to the computer system.

Requirements:

  • Completion of high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a host/hostess.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic diet information.
  • Good command of the English language, including reading, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
