Opportunity Overview

Aecon Utilities is seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to join our team and contribute to our mission to become Canada's #1 utility construction provider. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation of underground utilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
  • Manage daily construction operations across multiple job sites, ensuring efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Enforce stringent safety protocols to safeguard all site personnel and comply with federal and local regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation, including compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil utility construction.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Proven ability to oversee large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in advanced trenching, shoring, and safe excavation methods.
  • Expert knowledge of pipe gradients, materials, and installation techniques crucial for underground utilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of MMCD and OH&S regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
  • Mandatory valid driver's license.

What We Offer

A competitive salary range of $85,000 - $125,000, depending on experience.
