About Our Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to join their Centre for Equity in Achievement and Wellbeing Branch. As a Consultant, Student Achievement and Wellbeing, you will play a key role in supporting the development, design, and implementation of inclusive policies, programs, and resource supports for all learners.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with education entities to implement inclusive policies, programs, and resource supports for all learners.
  • Support teachers and support staff in an inclusive education system to improve student achievement and well-being.
  • Analyse data to inform and guide decision making on student achievement and well-being.
  • Design, implement, and monitor responsive supports to improve student outcomes.
  • Research and evaluate programs, services, curriculum, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Ensure policies, programs, services, and curriculum are current, evidence-informed, and developmentally appropriate.
  • Provide expertise to support the NS public school program and services based on evidence-informed practices.
  • Build partnerships, relationships, and integrated services delivery across government, agencies, and communities.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Education, a Teaching Certificate, and a minimum of eight (8) successful years of teaching, including related leadership experience in student achievement and well-being.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge and expertise in the areas of student success planning, effective classroom instruction and assessment practices, and the Bachelor of Education Programs in Nova Scotia.

The consultant will be proficient in using computer applications, have excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and team-building skills, and be able to manage constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
