Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at The Labrador Inn. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel's facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities:- Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse.
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent odors and pests.
- Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and attractive appearance.
- Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
- Advertise vacancies and balance rent rolls to ensure efficient operations.
- Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
- Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment.
- Perform safety and security checks to ensure guest and staff safety.
- Supervise other workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies to maintain a safe and organized environment.
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a pleasant atmosphere.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Work with minimal supervision to ensure efficient operations.
- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure guest safety.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a maintenance role.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dependability, flexibility, and initiative to ensure efficient operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
