Destination Auto Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including posting receipts, filing and tallying deposits, coding, totaling, batching, entering, verifying and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service to associates and vendors.
  • Ensure all complaints and issues are addressed and resolved in a professional manner.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts to ensure timely payments and code invoices for management.
  • Utilize computer systems to run databases, pay bills, and order supplies.
  • Communicate with individuals with delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare and issue documents related to accounts, such as bills, invoices, account statements, and financial reports.
  • Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions.
  • Prepare period and cost statements and reports.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, and photocopying.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements, and industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Proven accounting experience, preferably as a previous Accounts Payable Clerk or Accounts Receivable Clerk.
  • Experience with cheque runs.
  • Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Experience with Yardi is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and other accounting databases/software.
  • Direct experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Strong analytical acumen, with the ability to interpret and reconcile numerical data.
  • Excellent judgment, high discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and thrive within a team environment.
