About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Validation Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team at ecobee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through rigorous testing and validation processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate product designs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate design risks, and develop solutions to improve product reliability and performance.
  • Design and build test instrumentation systems to automate experiments and data capture, and develop Python scripts to analyze and present test results.
  • Conduct Highly Accelerated Life Tests (HALT) and Accelerated Life Tests (ALT) to expose device vulnerabilities and improve designs.
  • Perform engineering assessments of test and verification activities against real-world field applications.
  • Develop and execute proposals for automations and verification test improvements, and lead the development of custom-built automated verification fixtures.
  • Work closely with the Hardware Engineering team to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in electrical hardware product development, with a focus on consumer electronics.
  • Proven experience in schematic design and review, printed circuit board review, and PCB layout fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of testing principles and their impact on results, as well as experience with oscilloscope, DAQ, DMM, thermal chamber, spectrum analyzer, and VNA.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
