Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax guidance for personal tax returns in a remote, seasonal, and customer-facing position.
  • Collaborate with customers to prepare and/or review their tax return to ensure accuracy and compliance by providing tax guidance and/or tax preparation services.
  • Research and troubleshoot tax and technical questions while communicating directly with customers in order to answer specific tax or technical questions (written and oral).
  • Provide a Full Service experience to prepare, review, and file customer returns with the CRA and/or assist customers via tax advice and guidance on required documents as they prepare their own tax return.
  • Research tax regulations to provide accurate advice on how to maximize customers' tax returns.
  • Create high-quality customer interactions and experiences that instill confidence using deep customer empathy and your in-depth tax knowledge and expertise.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years of paid professional tax preparation experience utilizing professional tax preparation software.
  • Minimum of 125 tax returns prepared per tax season for the last 3 years.
  • Experience preparing and filing end-to-end customer personal returns consisting of a variety of topics, including employment, self-employment, rental, investments, T1135, foreign income, and all credits/deductions.
  • Have a current and active CRA RepID (representative identifier) to allow your use of the CRA Represent a Client service.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and tax concepts.
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly technical and comfortable with Windows, Mac, and mobile platforms, as well as G-suite applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Flexibility in availability and scheduling.
  • Strong customer service and customer experience acumen.
  • Knowledge/experience preparing Quebec Tax (TP1) returns is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French + read, write, speak) is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience providing support in a contact center environment is considered an asset.
