The role of Physiotherapist II - Clinical Lead is integral to the PT Services at our facility, ensuring that clinical practices within the designated service area are centered around the needs of families and clients while adhering to established physiotherapy standards.

As a Physiotherapist II, you will oversee the daily operations of inpatient physiotherapy services, working autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery. Your responsibilities will include making informed clinical decisions based on patient and family assessments, interventions, discharge planning, and follow-up care. You will also provide guidance on complex clinical cases and lead initiatives to ensure safe, effective, and efficient client care.

Your practice will be grounded in evidence-based methodologies, complying with Alberta's legislative framework, professional standards, ethical codes, and AHS policies. The successful candidate will exhibit strong collaborative skills, demonstrating initiative and adaptability to meet diverse clinical and operational demands. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential, as is participation in program development and operational strategies. You will also engage in continuous professional development and work closely with management and discipline leads, representing the service in various committees as required.

Description:

In the role of Physiotherapist II, you will coordinate physiotherapy and allied health services, providing mentorship to students and team members as assigned. You will function both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team, offering leadership to fellow professionals. Your daily responsibilities will include making clinical decisions regarding patient assessments, interventions, discharge processes, and follow-up care.

You will also advise team members on complex clinical scenarios and provide leadership within your program or service area to ensure high-quality client care. Your practice will be evidence-based and aligned with Alberta's regulations and professional standards. You will manage the daily operations of your assigned service area, monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs, and assisting medical staff with caseload management, including conducting chart audits and providing constructive feedback.

Participation in program development and operational planning is expected, along with representation of the department in various committees or programs. You will be responsible for determining staffing requirements, workflow management, and caseload prioritization in collaboration with management and other healthcare professionals. AHS is committed to supporting our Physiotherapists in their professional growth and skill enhancement, ensuring access to experienced clinicians across the province for guidance and support.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution or a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy with relevant experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of coursework related to team dynamics, communication, and leadership. Experience in a clinical leadership capacity is advantageous. AADL authorization may be required for specific services.
