Job Title: Laser Programmer

Job Summary:

HIDEAWAY Inc. is seeking a skilled Laser Programmer to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a key member of our production process, you will be responsible for translating engineering drawings and designs into executable instructions for our Tumpf tube laser machine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software to design and program project specifications into laser cutting machines.
  • Specify parameters to guide the laser machine in removing parts, setting threads, and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop and finalize product specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance, make adjustments as necessary, and address any issues efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on laser cutting machines.
  • Ensure programmed instructions align with quality standards.
  • Conduct engraving and cutting of metal or plastic parts using laser technology.
  • Record machine settings and job notes in custom software.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience programming/operating a 2D and/or Tube laser cutting machines.
  • Experience working with Trumpf laser cutting equipment is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in applied sciences or engineering is considered an asset.
  • Background in metal fabrication/assembly.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
