Hybrid Work: This role is based in Calgary, Alberta, and requires in-person collaboration at our WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) three days a week. The remaining 40% of the workweek is flexible, allowing for critical learning, collaboration, and networking with colleagues.

16-Month Term Position: We're seeking a skilled Accountant - Fuel to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a high standard of excellence, enjoy problem-solving, and take personal initiative.

This role is responsible for daily operational accounting, with a focus on daily organization and processing. Key deliverables include:

  • Managing large volumes of email and invoices
  • Collaborating with internal and external business partners to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Working in a multi-company account structure with multiple currencies
  • Investigating discrepancies, including vendor statement reconciliations and tax calculations
  • Assisting with team on fuel invoice payment procedures
  • Partnering with various teams to assist with ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and decision support
  • Documenting processes and ensuring compliance with internal controls and C-Sox requirements

Experience and Qualifications: We're looking for a candidate with a post-secondary education and/or certificate in a related field (i.e., Accounting or Finance). A minimum of 2-3 years of related experience is required, along with high-level Excel proficiency and a keen interest in learning new technology.
