About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gas Fitter to join our team at Bruin's Plumbing & Heating Ltd. as a key member of our installation and service team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend to gas escape calls and respond to emergency situations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Install and service gas heating units and their components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Measure and mark reference points for the installation of gas lines and equipment, using precision tools and techniques.
  • Service and maintain meters and regulators, as well as gas lines between gas units and gas meters, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and quotations for gas installation and service work, taking into account client requirements and company policies.
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment, using specialized tools and techniques to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Advise clients on standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms, check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices, and replace defective equipment or components as needed.
Requirements
  • Gas Fitter Trade Certification
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Dependability, accuracy, and a strong focus on client satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
